Criteria for Certified Work Ready Community (CWRC) Status
Counties must meet both criteria to become a Certified Work Ready Community.
Communities must demonstrate the following with respect to high school graduation rate to become a Certified Work Ready Community of Excellence :
- A commitment to improving their public high school graduation rate (HSGR)
- A minimum county high school graduation rate of 70%
Detailed information for establishing a county’s goals in demonstrating their commitment to increasing their public HSGR is contained in the link below. For counties below the 70% threshold, they may earn a Certified Work Ready Community status if they meet all other criteria.
Certifications are county based, and individual counties must meet the two following criteria:
- Commitment to High School Graduation Rate Improvement
All communities must demonstrate a commitment to improving their public high school graduation rate (HSGR). There is a minimum of 70% HSGR to become a Certified Work Ready Community of Excellence. For counties below 70% there are benchmarks to earn a Certified Work Ready Community status if they also attain the certified adult workforce minimum levels.

- Achievement of Certified Adult Workforce Minimum Levels
Communities must also show that adult residents in various specified labor market groups have successfully attained a Georgia Work Ready Certificate.
Minimum levels of certification in these groups are determined by a county size scale ranging from small to extra large counties.
